WEP's Global PALS program allows young Australians to travel overseas and volunteer as language assistants, joining a local school community and teaching their mother tongue to students learning English.
As a language assistant overseas, you will support local teachers with the delivery of their English language program. You will not be expected to teach classes by yourself, but rather, to work alongside qualified language teachers. Your tasks may include preparing activitie/materials for classes, tutoring students one-on-one or in small groups, and simultaneously, pass on the intricacies of your home country and its culture.
In return for your efforts and enthusiasm, the school will provide you with accommodation and full board for duration of the program, involving you in their community and making you feel right at home!
