Aleisha – semester program to Germany
Hi WEP! As for things over here, they have been great! Regensburg has been very lucky with its weather recently, and we had 32°C on Saturday – the warmest temperature recorded in the city since 1934! Because the weather has improved we’ve also been going to a lot more places – today for example, we went to see the Maibaum put up in Großprüfening (a village close to where I live), which was pretty neat, especially as I got to see everyone in their dirndl’s and lederhosen (I even tried one on myself!) We’ve also been to several biergarten’s, and I am very used to the Bavarian palette by now – pretzels, schweinebraten and wurst, how cliche! Also, on Sunday we went to ‘Kloster Weltenburg’ which is the oldest monastery brewery in the world! It was really lovely, as to get to it you need to take a 40 minute boat ride on the Danube, through the gorge, which has some absolutely wonderful scenery!
I am so thankful for the WEP team for making this trip possible!
