What’s on your agenda? Add new stamps to your passport, new memories to your heart and new skills to your belt with the WEP Global PALS (Program for Assistants of Languages in Schools).

This program allows Australians to gain valuable professional experience in a supportive overseas environment while exploring life and culture in another country.

Global PALS is popular with tertiary students studying education or a related field, but it is also open to university students studying other areas who have an interest in education or language.

As a participant, you’ll support English language learning by working alongside local teachers at an educational institution in your country of choice. Generally participants are placed at primary, middle or high schools, however participants in Argentina are placed in language institutions. Your day-to-day could include coaching language students, lesson planning, sharing Australian customs, getting involved in cultural events and more! Not only will you help enhance students’ English skills and cultural knowledge, you’ll be gaining valuable personal and professional skills along the way.

Applicants must:

• be a native or native-like English speaker
• be a university student or graduate
• meet country-specific age requirements – depending on the country, younger applicants may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• meet country-specific language requirements – most countries prefer some prior local language knowledge, however beginners are encouraged to enquire
• have an interest in education or languages
• be able to commit to the program for the contracted duration.
