Hey ya’ll, study in the USA with WEP Australia!
We’ve all seen our fair share of American life from watching Netflix, but the real USA is a very different place from Riverdale and Stranger Things. It’s a place of great diversity, where you will meet locals who are patriotic, welcoming and enthusiastic (and who love Australians!).
The school experience in the US is unique – students’ engagement with their school community is next level! Join a club (debating, fashion, cheer, theatre, glee), or get involved in school sports, which Americans take very seriously. Also, make sure you attend Prom or Homecoming!
Just because they speak English in the USA, doesn’t mean that there won’t be a language barrier! Your accent will 100% be a conversation starter – use it and make friends and memories for life. Take the leap and start your own American adventure!

We’ll place you in an urban area of over 30,000 residents. It could be anywhere!

Choose from 15 fantastic cities: Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Madison, Milwaukee, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Portland, Seattle, St. Louis or Tulsa.

Study Abroad
WEP Study Abroad USA is a premium program, offering enrolment in exclusive US high schools for students who have specific artistic, sporting or academic requirements. Students are able to select either a location within the US, where they would like to be placed, or a particular school that they would like to attend:

More Information
School
In the USA, each school routine is different. School will begin at around 8:00-8:30am and finish at 3:30pm. Students are expected to do between two and four hours of homework every night. When you know which school you will be attending it’s important to research the subjects you may be studying and individual school expectations.
Language
Although you will be speaking English in the USA, you may be surprised at the difference between Australian-English and American-English. Just because you speak the same language, doesn't mean there won't be communication challenges.
Climate/Time
The United States is a huge country, covering four different ranges of latitudes. The climate varies across the country greatly, but be prepared for cooler temperatures in January (winter) and warmer weather in August (summer).
Depending on daylight saving and the location of your placement, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane are between 13 to 17 hours ahead of the USA.
Specific Requirements
For August departures: students must be at least 15 by 20 July.
For January departures: students must be at least 15 by 20 December.
