On a program to Auckland, experience World Heritage Tongariro National Park during an optional seven-day school camp. You'll have the opportunity to get involved in activities like skiing, mountain biking, white water rafting (activities depend on the season).
School in New Zealand isn't too different to Australia; you'll start at 9am and finish up at 3:00 or 3:30pm Monday to Friday. Of course, each school is different, but generally New Zealand schools are well-equipped and have outdoor space for sport.
Although you will be speaking English in New Zealand, you may be surprised at the difference between New Zealand-English and Australian-English. Just because you speak the same language, doesn't mean there won't be communication challenges!
New Zealand has a largely temperate climate, but being such a long country, the climate you experience will depend on where you're placed. Auckland has a subtropical climate in summer and an average high of 13.8 degrees Celsius in winter. Christchurch has dry warm summers and cold winters.
