My journey with WEP started in 2015 when I studied in Canada for a semester. Leaving in January, I arrived into their coldest winter in 20 years! I went to school while it was snowing which was a once in a lifetime experience. My semester in Canada was the best experience, I made friends that I am still in contact with, and my host family were welcoming and supportive. School was my favourite part as I got to meet so many new people, try new subjects and of course be asked if we ride Kangaroos to school to which I answered, of course we do! I went back to visit Canada in 2018 and hope to be back again soon. In 2017 and 2019 my family hosted two Italian students and have since visited their own families. Exchange has truly opened a world of possibilities for me, and I am forever grateful for WEP for supporting me in so many life-changing experiences.

I’m Trina. I love experiencing new cultures. I live in Melbourne with my family near the beach and love the great outdoors. I lived in the Netherlands, though, for 8 years and loved what that taught me. Make the most of every experience, ask lots of questions, say yes to everything and learn as much as you can about others….and you’ll learn more about yourself then too. Travel can change everything and it’s extra powerful when it’s on an exchange program at a young age. I love what we do here at WEP as the students come back so much stronger, more confident and so resilient. I’m so proud of every student who takes on this brave undertaking and love being a part of making that happen.
