WEP Australia is excited to include, at the beginning of the semester and year programs in Italy, a week of Italian language and culture. The purpose of this week is to hone your Italan skills at the beginning of the program, and to impart a deeper view of the Italian culture than many Australian students have.

Sightseeing

Optional trips are also offered to WEP students during their stay in Italy. Costs may vary according to where you you are staying. Please note that the trips are scheduled for the year so that semester students will not be able to visit all locations. All trips are escorted and the cost will be available on arrival in Italy.

• 8.00am to 1.00/2.00pm
• 15 minute mid-morning break
• Lunch is eaten at home

• Lyceum (either scientific, classical, linguistic, or artistic)
  OR
• Training school (either pedagogical, technical or vacational)

School syllabus

• All students graduate after sitting a national exam called maturità (test of maturity)
• Students are expected to be respectful to teachers to such a point that behaviour is evaluated along with academic subjects

Holidays

• Two weeks over Christmas
• One week over Easter
• Long summer break
• A number of one-day civil or religious holidays throughout the year
