The hills are alive…
No-one, (not even Julie Andrews!) can deny the beauty of Austria. A landlocked country that is smaller than the state of Victoria, Austria is known for its imposing mountain ranges - the Alps and the Matterhorn being two of its most famous features. Only one quarter of Austria can be considered to be low-lying, so Austrians make the most of their space by skiing or snowboarding in the winter and hiking, rafting, and sailing in the warmer months.
Many Austrians live in small village towns with cobblestoned streets, and the capital, Vienna is known as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
