I arrived in the Netherlands on the 1st of January, the perfect day to start an adventure that will change my life! I am in a town called Zwolle, and like everyone else I cycle everywhere. Now it already seems strange hopping in a car! The weather is cold, but I absolutely LOVE ice-skating and waking up in the morning to find a beautiful, white world just outside my bedroom window.

My school is extremely welcoming and some teachers go to the trouble of translating some things into English for me so I can take part in the lesson. I have already made quite a few friends even though the language barrier can sometimes be challenging.

I also love the Dutch food like kroket, pepernoten, appelmoes, the cheeses...

I have already been here a month and I am loving it and I can't wait to see what the next 11 months will bring!!!
